About Us
AlgomaTrad is the Algoma Traditional Music and Dance Group, a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to the celebration, sharing, and learning of traditional music, dance, arts, and heritage craft. Since 2004, AlgomaTrad has produced over 300 programs and events, including community dances, concerts, workshops, festivals, and its annual Family Camp, while hosting over 200 nationally and internationally renowned performers, artists, and mentors. We are currently developing the AlgomaTrad Centre, a year-round, environmentally sustainable cultural heritage arts facility on
St. Joseph Island, Ontario.

Meet Your Founders & Artistic Directors
Julie Schryer and Pat O’Gorman are lifelong musicians and mentors steeped in the culture of traditional music. Supported by a Board of Directors and core of steadfast, loyal volunteers, they are dedicated to building a multi-generational community through the celebration and sharing of music, dance, and heritage craft. The AlgomaTrad Centre will be a year-round home for this vision.
